An evolved approach to the Access Services Network
The Aviat Wireless Services Gateway (WSG) implements Access Services Network Gateway (ASN-GW) functions for WiMAX Packet Switched services. Used in conjunction with Aviat’s StarMAX™ broadband wireless access platform, the WSG is a critical component in our comprehensive end-to-end WiMAX broadband wireless network solution.
The Aviat WSG is an Network Working Group Profile C standard-compliant ASN-GW, enabling interoperability in a multivendor environment, and incorporates an architecture that separates control plane and data plane functions into distinct components.
Bearer and control channel functionality are decomposed to enable fully independent scalability of a pervasive ASN as the network grows. As more access routers are added to the network, the packet processing capabilities of the ASN-GW can increase at the same time.
The WSG enables service providers to increase ARPU by offering voice, video and high speed data services over wireless for consumers and enterprises. The WSG reduces total cost of ownership by enabling multiple services using a single converged IP core network.
