Home Agent (HA)
The Aviat Home Agent allows mobile users to roam across different access networks, while in constant contact and addressability. It forms a natural aggregation point in the Connectivity Service Network (CSN), which provides IP connectivity between the Access Service Network (ASN), the mobile subscriber and the Application Service Provider (ASP) or Internet.
All traffic to and from a subscriber’s terminal is routed through the Home Agent, regardless of the origin or the destination. The subscriber is tracked by its single IP address, even while roaming across different networks. The Home Agent allows the mobile subscriber to roam without re-starting applications or terminating and re-establishing a connection.
The Aviat Home Agent is based on the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Mobile IP standard (RFC 3344).
