StarMAX™ 450 MHz WiMAX Solution for Rural Broadband
Aviat Networks’ StarMAX 450 MHz solution delivers Internet, voice and multimedia services with the same capacity and data handling performance characteristics as higher frequency WiMAX solutions. This is a complete end-to-end telecommunications solution for operators who have a frequency license between 410 and 470 MHz.
The 450 MHz band has excellent signal propagation characteristics making it an ideal choice for long-reach, broadband networks in rural communities. Compared to typical 3.5 GHz-based systems, a sub-1 GHz network may require five to 10 times less infrastructure—including towers, power generators and shelters. This makes a sub 1 GHz return on investment especially attractive for areas with low population.
