Aviat Networks demonstrated advanced Ethernet solutions at CEWC 2010 via EANTC multivendor demo
Aviat Networks lead a Synchronous Ethernet demonstration at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress (CEWC) in Warsaw, Poland, September 21-23, hosted by the European Advanced Networking Testing Center (EANTC), to demonstrate the viability of this key technology for enabling the deployment of LTE/4G backhaul services over an "ALL-IP" network.
The demonstration was across a multivendor wireless (microwave) and wireline network (diagram below) including: Cisco Systems, Symmetricom Inc., Calnex Solutions and MRV Communications, and featured Aviat Networks' latest Gigabit Ethernet switching card for the Eclipse Packet Node, which is planned for introduction later this year, and will be offered alongside existing Eclipse Ethernet cards.
The new card builds on Aviat Networks’ field-proven experience and leadership in delivering versatile and scalable Hybrid and Packet microwave backhaul solutions and provides a seamless upgrade for customers who have already deployed Eclipse but need multi-Gigabit Ethernet transport with higher performance.
EANTC's sixth consecutive annual public Carrier Ethernet interoperability test event took place at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Warsaw (September 21-23, 2010). This year's test results confirm that the Carrier Ethernet implementations of the 24 participating vendors have progressed substantially – Click here for more info.
